Paris. India’s flag is flying high in the Paralympics being held in Paris, the capital of France. India has created history by winning 20 medals, surpassing the record of 19 medals of Tokyo Paralympics. These 20 medals include 3 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze medals.
This is the highest number of medals India has won in a single Paralympics (Paris Paralympics). On Wednesday, Indian para athletes performed brilliantly and won four medals in just half an hour. Half of the medals for India, i.e. 10 medals, have come from para athletics. India also performed brilliantly in para badminton with 5 medals. Apart from this, India got 4 medals in shooting and 1 medal in archery.
In the men’s javelin throw F46 final on Wednesday, Ajeet Singh won silver with a personal best throw of 65.62m and Sundar Singh Gurjar won bronze with a season’s best throw of 64.96m. This was India’s first double medal in athletics at the Paris Paralympics.
