1. PM Modi handed over the presidency of G20 to Brazil, said- increase the number of permanent members in UNSC.

On the last day of the G20 summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the chairmanship of the organization to Brazilian President Lula da Silva. Brazil will host the G20 summit next year. The Prime Minister suggested holding a virtual session of the G-20 Summit in late November. In which the topics decided during this summit will be reviewed.
PM Modi said that the world is changing, along with it the institutions of the world also need to change. He said- UNSC (United Nations Security Council) still has the same number of members as it had at the time of its establishment. The number of permanent countries should increase.
Why is this news important: 5 countries (America, Russia, United Kingdom, France and China) are permanent members of UNSC. These countries can overturn any decision of the Council. India is in the race to become its member. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has supported India for the permanent seat of UNSC.

2. Impact of Indian diplomacy in G20, Italy will leave China’s Belt and Road Initiative
On the second day of the G20 summit, Italy indicated to China that it may exit the Belt and Road Project. Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Meloni gave this information to China’s Premier Li Qiang. However, he also said that this will not affect the relations between China and Italy. This decision is being seen as the impact of Indian diplomacy in G20.
Why is this news important: During the G20 Summit itself, an agreement was reached to build an economic corridor between India, the Middle East and the European Union. Italy is also included in this deal. It is being considered as the answer to China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Italy is the first G7 country to join China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

3. India-Pakistan match will be played on reserve day, Rohit scored 50th half-century of his ODI career.

4. Fake medicines for liver and cancer are being sold in India, DCGI asks states to keep an eye
The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) says that there are 8 different fake versions of liver drug Defitelio and injection Adcetris used in cancer treatment in the country. Drug controllers of all states and union territories have been asked to keep an eye on these medicines.
Why is this news important: WHO had issued an alert regarding these medicines. After this, DCGI said that many fake versions of Adcetris injection are available in 4 countries including India, which are supplied online. According to WHO, 20% of the world’s cancer patients are in India. Every year 75 thousand people die due to this disease. Every year about two lakh people die due to liver disease in the country.
