New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt in his written reply yesterday to a question asked in the Lok Sabha said:
The Ministry of Defense does not collect military expenditure data of other countries. However, according to the statistics published on the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) website, the world’s military expenditure in the year 2021 has been listed. According to this, US military expenditure is Rs 63.4 lakh crore and China’s military expenditure is Rs 23.23 lakh crore. After this, India’s military expenditure is Rs.6.06 lakh crore. India is the 3rd largest military spender in the world.
