1. Team India with the Asia Cup trophy. India has won the Asia Cup after 5 years. 2. Mohammad Siraj was selected as the Player of the Final, for this he received a prize money of 5 thousand dollars. Siraj donated this amount to the grounds staff team.
Batting first in the final of the Asia Cup, Sri Lanka was all out for 50 runs in 15.2 overs. Mohammad Siraj took 6 wickets for 21 runs in 7 overs. Team India won on the first ball of the sixth over. The team won with 263 balls remaining. This is India’s biggest win in terms of balls remaining at the end of the match. Earlier, India had defeated Kenya in 2001 with 231 balls to spare.
Why is this news important: This is the lowest score of any team in ODI against India. Earlier, Bangladesh team was all out for 58 runs against India in 2014. Siraj also took 4 wickets in a single over. He became the first Indian to do so. He has equaled the world record of taking 5 wickets in the fewest balls in ODI cricket. Siraj took 5 wickets in 16 balls. Chaminda Vaas of Sri Lanka took 5 wickets in 16 balls against Bangladesh in 2003.

2. An army soldier on leave was murdered in Manipur, he was kidnapped from his home by miscreants.
An Army soldier, who was on leave, was murdered in Manipur’s West Imphal district. Three armed miscreants abducted constable Serto Thangthang from his house and shot him in the head. His body was found in a village in East Imphal. Serto was posted with the Army’s Defense Security Corps in Kangpokpi district of the state.
Why is this news important: Deceased’s brother Pachung (50) told that Serto had come home only a day before. It was Serto’s son who saw him being kidnapped. Pachung says there is fighting between the Kuki and Meitei communities, but he comes from the Kom community, which is helping to restore peace in Manipur. In such a situation, the reason for the murder could not be known. There have been 175 deaths so far in the violence that has continued in Manipur since May 3.

3. Inauguration of the first phase of Yasobhoomi, Asia’s largest convention and expo center.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of India International Convention and Expo Center in Dwarka, Delhi. This convention center named Yashobhoomi is Asia’s largest meetings, conference and exhibition center. Modi launched PM Vishwakarma Yojana worth Rs 13 thousand crore from Yashobhoomi Convention Center itself.
Why is this news important: The Yashobhoomi Convention Center is bigger than the Bharat Mandapam, where the G20 meeting was held on September 9 and 10. Yashobhoomi has been built on 219 acres at a cost of about Rs 5400 crore. Whereas, Bharat Mandapam is built on 123 acres. Here, people involved in 18 traditional professions will benefit from Vishwakarma Yojana. Under this, the government will give a daily allowance of Rs 500 to those who receive training.
