The incident took place in 2012. Defendant killed the sponsor in Andalusia, Farwaniya Governorate. The Kuwaiti criminal court sentenced the accused to death in the absence of the accused in the case. India and Kuwait have signed an agreement in this regard. In 2016, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a letter to India requesting the extradition of the accused in accordance with the extradition treaty signed in 2004. Based on this, it has been decided to remand the accused.

However, the defendant told investigators that the murder was caused by a Kuwaiti man withholding his passport and forcing him to commit anti-religious acts. The accused entered India with the passport in the custody of the sponsor. The final decision on the extradition of the convicts will be taken only after the completion of the trials in both the countries.
