Bhubaneswar: The Indian football team has announced a donation of Rs 20 lakh to the families of the victims of the Odisha train accident. The Indian team won the Intercontinental Cup series on Sunday. In this case, the Indian team has informed this.
India beat Lebanon 2-0 in the final of the Intercontinental Cup football series held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha to win the title. Captain Sunil Chhetri scored in the 46th minute and Lalianshuala Shankde scored in the 66th minute for the Indian side. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that Rs 1 crore prize money will be awarded to the champion Indian football team.
In this case, the Indian soldiers have unanimously decided to give 20 lakh rupees of the prize money they got to the families of those who lost their lives in the Odisha train accident. Team coach Igor Stimak also agreed to this. The Indian team has tweeted about this.
“Thanks to the prize money given to us by Odisha government for our success. Out of that prize money, we are providing Rs 20 lakh for relief and rehabilitation.
