Sports Desk. The Indian hockey team registered a spectacular victory by defeating Pakistan 2-1 in its 5th match of the league stage in the Asian Champions Trophy 2024. With this victory, Team India’s undefeated campaign in this tournament for the last 8 years continued. Both the goals in this match from India’s side were scored by captain Harmanpreet Singh’s stick.
The first quarter was started by the Indian hockey team. India started aggressively but then went into defense. Pakistan tried to score a goal in the 5th minute but could not. However, Pakistan got success in the 7th minute and scored a field goal to take a 1-0 lead. Ahmed Nadeem scored the goal for Pakistan. India got its first penalty corner in the 12th minute and captain Harmanpreet Singh equalized the match without any mistake.
The Indian team started aggressively in the second quarter. India soon got a penalty corner and captain Harmanpreet Singh gave India a 2-1 lead without any mistake. Pakistan got the first penalty corner, but the team could not take advantage and India (hockey team) did not suffer any loss. India maintained a 2-1 lead till the first half. Both the teams played a strong game in the third quarter. India took advantage of the mistake of the Pakistani player and got a penalty corner, but the goal could not be scored.
Pakistan got a penalty corner due to the mistake of Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh. Harmanpreet Singh made a brilliant save. Pakistan got three penalty corners, but goalkeeper Pathak saved each time. In the last quarter, India (hockey team) played aggressively and got a penalty corner, but the goal could not be converted.
