Indian Railways increases train speed to avoid delays due to fog

Indian Railways is taking various measures to make train services safe from fog in northern parts of the country.

Special attention will be given to prevent accidents and reduce delays in train services, it said.

Accordingly, installation of de-icing devices in locomotives, installation of high-noise devices, laying of white lines near the tracks, installation of whistle-blowing devices and LED bulbs at level crossing areas, installation of reflective sigma-shaped signal, running of trains at a speed of 60 kmph to 75 kmph etc. It has been informed that important activities will be carried out.
