Indigenization: Saudi employment for 19 lakh people in the private sector

Saudi Arabia: Indigenization in Saudi Arabia is reported to be showing results. The report was released by the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. By 2021, 19 million Saudis will be working in the private sector. This is the first time in history that the number of people employed in the private sector has increased so much.

It aims to create a conducive work environment to create employment opportunities for all citizens of the country. The country has achieved this through the National Transformation Program and the ‘Vision 2030’ initiative. The projects are being implemented in the country on the instructions of Crown Prince Mohammed Salman. According to the ministry, the country has achieved this as a result of continuous efforts.

It was localized in places like restaurants and cafes across the country. Now, in addition to that, indigenization has taken place in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, engineering and accounting. Later, Saudi Arabia extended its repatriation to other regions. Indigenization was rapidly implemented in a short period of time in many sectors such as communication, supermarkets, technology, public education, tourism and so on.
