The armed conflict unleashed this weekend in Israel is causing Spanish companies with a presence in the country to suspend their business in the area until further notice. This is the case of Inditex, which has temporarily closed its 84 stores in Israel, all franchised.
The Spanish multinational founded by Amancio Ortega operates on a franchise basis through Zara (with 26 stores) and Pull&Bear (25 stores), Bershka (15), Stradivarius (14), Massimo Dutti (2) and Zara Home (2). The websites of these brands in the country have published a message informing customers that they will remain closed “temporarily.” The return deadlines will also be extended by 30 days from its reopening, with no date set yet. The Israeli market is in 14th place in terms of the number of Inditex stores, according to the annual report for the last financial year.
