A student named Atul Rao, who was suffering from a heart attack, was given a new life by the doctors of London’s Hammersmith Hospital by performing a successful surgery.
Atul Rao, a student at Belar University in Texas, developed symptoms of a blood clot in his lungs. ‘Pulmonary embolism’ obstructs the blood supply to the heart, leading to cardiac arrest.
Rao was immediately admitted to the Imperial College Healthcare Center in London. A doctor who examined him found a blood clot in his lungs. The doctor who proceeded to the surgery without delay solved the problem of blood clot by performing the whole night surgery.
Throughout the night, Hammersmith Hospital doctors worked hard to save Atuv Rao’s life. He has been taken to Thomas Hospital for emergency artificial heart and lung implantation (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation). Rao’s life was spared as the blood clot was dissolved by the medicine given by the doctor.
Even once the heart stops beating, the life goes away. However, despite the cardiac arrest six times, Atuv Rao surprisingly survived due to the efforts of the doctors, and the doctors expressed relief that he was reborn.
Devoting life to the service of people
Atul Rao, who has decided to pursue medical education after being reborn under the treatment of a doctor, said, ‘If my parents gave me life, the doctor gave me a rebirth. He said that he will devote his life to the service of patients in the next day.
