Infosys shares fall; Akshata Murthy alone lost 500 crore rupees in a single day

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s wife Akshata Murthy lost $61 million after Infosys shares fell 9.4 percent on Monday. It will come to about 500 crore rupees. The report was released by Bloomberg. Murthy owns 0.94 per cent stake in the company, which is co-founded by Akshatha’s father Narayana Murthy.

Shares of Infosys fell on Monday due to disappointing quarterly results report. This was the company’s biggest decline since March 2020. Akshata Murthy’s stake in Infosys alone is still worth around Rs 6,000 crore. But this is only a part of Sunak family’s wealth. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunakin’s office is refusing to comment on Aksatha’s wealth issue. This wealth has led to many controversies in the political life of her husband Rishi Sunak.

Akshata Murthik received Rs 126.61 crore as dividend income from shares in Infosys in 2022. But it was last year that Rishi Sunak faced a backlash after reports that he had not paid taxes on foreign income. The authorities responded that as an Indian citizen, he cannot hold citizenship of any other country and all Aksatha’s UK income is taxed.

As the controversy raged, Akshata Murthy announced that all her worldwide income would be taxed in the UK. Meanwhile, there is a new controversy that Sunak’s policy was adopted under a budget announcement for Murthy’s business interest. But Rishi Sunak denied this. According to reports, the Parliamentary Monitoring Committee will investigate whether there has been any violation of the law
