New Delhi: India, Lebanon, Mongolia and Vanuatu will participate in the Intercontinental Cup football series from June 9 to 18 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
Each participating team will play against other teams once each. The top two teams on points will play off in the finals.
The Indian team is participating in the Intercontinental Cup as a preparation for the 2024 Asian Football Cup to be held in Qatar. India will face Mongolia in their first match of the series on June 9. This match will be played at 7.30 pm.
This is the third edition of the Intercontinental Cup. Earlier this series was held in Mumbai in 2018 and Ahmedabad in 2019. This time, the Indian team will train in Bhubaneswar under the guidance of coach Igor Stimag from the 15th to prepare for this series.
The match between India and Vanuatu will be played on June 12. The Indian football team will meet the Lebanon team on the 15th day in a row. The final will be held on 18th at 7.30 pm. After the conclusion of the Intercontinental Cup, the Indian team will participate in the South Asian Football Confederation Championship series to be held in Bengaluru from July 21 to July 3.
