The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the organizer of the UAE Tour 2023, announced the first names of the professional riders who will participate in the fifth edition, which will be held from the 20th to the 26th of this month.
The tour begins in Abu Dhabi and ends in seven stages with a total of 1028 km. The race track consists of four fast stages, two mountain stages, in addition to a stage against the clock that extends for a distance of 17.2 km.
The world road champion in the International Cycling Federation, the Belgian cyclist Remco Evenbol, born in 2000, is participating in the race with the (Sodal – Quick Step) team, where he achieved during the past year 2022 several global victories, in the world championships of the International Cycling Federation, including: Road World Championships in Wollongong, Liege-Bastogne League, Tour de San Sebastian Classic, Tour of Spain.
There is British Adam Yates, born in 1992, who is currently participating with the Emirates Team, as he has unique skills that made him the first British rider to win the classification of a young cyclist in the Tour of France in 2016, and in 2020 he won the red jersey in the Emirates Tour for the team. Mitchelton Scott (now switched to Team Jacob Al-Ula), and Adam Yates also finished second in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Emirates Tour.
And the name Sam Bennett, born in 1990, is an Irish cyclist, currently participating with the International Cycling Federation (Bora Hansgrohe) team, and he is also a world-class runner, who won during his professional career that began in 2011 in 10 stages of the most famous international races Grand Prix, and won the green jersey in the Tour de France in 2020 after winning the speed points.
Caleb Ewan, the Australian cyclist, born in 1994, is participating with the International Cycling Union team (Lotto Destiny). Since he started his professional career in 2014.
