Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia handed over free bus passes to some construction workers at a function at the Delhi headquarters yesterday. Then he spoke:
The government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has introduced a free bus pass scheme for construction workers. This will benefit a large number of workers.
In Delhi alone, 10 lakh workers have registered their names. The Delhi government has so far provided Rs 600 crore for the benefit of 10 lakh registered workers. No other state in the country has paid so much to construction workers.
We are currently launching this free bus pass scheme for construction workers. Workers must save the cost of the bus fare each month and use it for the benefit of their family. Thus he spoke.
Construction workers include builders, painters, welders, carpenters, and crane operators.
