Iran says it will pardon tens of thousands of prisoners

Iran’s Supreme Leader has pardoned “tens of thousands” of prisoners, many of them arrested for security reasons during recent protests against the Islamist regime, state television reported. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced that in honor of the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution.
