Jio has decided to increase the supply of JioBharat phones after the idea of Rs 999 smartphone has clicked. Now the V2 phone can be bought again through Jiomart. Currently, the company distributes JioBharat Vitu phones in partnership with Carbon. Jio Bharat may also collaborate with other brands to make phones. Currently, the company is partnering with Carbon, a commercial software company. The target is Rs 10,000 crore business in the coming years.
Customers can easily access UPI, Jio Cinema and other services through the Jio Bharat Vitu platform. The main attraction is that other manufacturers can also collaborate with Reliance Jio to launch a low-cost smartphone.
The company has also announced low cost data plans along with the phone. Jio is targeting huge business from this Rs 999 phone in coming years. Just as Jio has conquered the market, Jio Bharat Phone also has huge potential in India, firms like BofA Securities point out. It is targeting around 10 crore users in the next two-three years. Providing low data plans with the phone will also ensure internet access on the phone to the poor.
