On Monday, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the recall of the Russian ambassador, after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated that Nazi leader Adolf Hitler was of Jewish origin.
Earlier, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said on Monday that Israel was waiting for an apology from the Russian ambassador, after Foreign Minister Lavrov’s comments in which he compared Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Nazi leader Hitler because he had Jewish origins.
And the Israeli Ynet website quoted Lapid as saying that Lavrov’s statements were “unforgivable and a historical mistake.”

Lavrov had said in statements to Italian media, Sunday, that Zelensky’s Jewish origin does not deny the fact that there were Nazi elements in his government, adding that Hitler also had Jewish blood, according to the site.
Zelensky (44 years) was born in the town of Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine to Jewish parents, and graduated from the Kyiv National University of Economics with a law degree, but he found what he wanted in acting, and then turned to politics because circumstances pushed him to the presidency of Ukraine in a difficult period.
