Guwahati: The 2nd T20 match between India and South Africa cricket teams took place yesterday in Guwahati, Assam.
While India were batting in the first innings of this match, a snake crawled into the field and play was stopped for a few minutes. Usually the snake takes the picture. But the cameras on the ground caught the snake. A snake entered the ground before the 8th over of the match was bowled. So the game was stopped for a few minutes. After this incident, the ground staff rushed with necessary tools to catch the snake.
Netizens noticed it and shared the picture on social media. Some were amazed and gave an interesting caption to the picture. However, the Assam State Cricket Association has been blamed for the lack of attention of the stadium management when a snake entered the stadium in the middle of the match. However, Assam Cricket Association (ACA) secretary Devjit Saikia said that the matter is not taken seriously.
Saikia said, “In some matches, the fans enter the stadium. But here the snake entered the stadium differently. The snake also came to enjoy the match. I hope the snake came to see the players up close. But the snake would not have been happy to catch it and let it out in the middle,” Saikia said. Also, in the middle of the match, the lights of the stadium were not lit properly, and the whole incident happened in the match the day before yesterday.
Talking about this, Saikia said, “I don’t think this is a big incident. Normality returned there after a while. There is no LED system in the stadium. Steps have been taken to change it in the next two-three months.”
