Women Self Help Groups in Kerala are making great strides in the social progress of the state. Rameshwar Singh visited the activities of Kochi Water Metro which are being led by women and the canteens which are providing food for 20 rupees under the leadership of neighborhood groups.
Women empowerment projects in all parts of the state are aimed at solving the unemployment of women and also giving them financial empowerment. Rameshwar Singh pointed out that this is a model project that can be implemented by Manipur and other states of the country. Rameshwar Singh is an MLA from Kachching assembly constituency in Manipur.
Meanwhile, two people from Sweden had come to Kerala the other day to learn about Kudumbashree. Sophia Broman and Stella Nordenman came to the state and met Minister MB Rajesh. Both the students of Marie Sederskold College, Stockholm, came to Kerala to learn about Kudubashri as part of an internship.
Minister MB Rajesh said through a Facebook post that he met them at the inauguration of the ‘Ujjeevanam’ project implemented by Kudumbashree as part of the program to eradicate extreme poverty. The Minister clarified this by saying that the world is recognizing and accepting the unique examples given by Kudumbashree for women empowerment.
‘Here in this little Kerala, every neighborhood gives a wonderful experience even to researchers in developed countries. The government is going ahead with activities to make more youth a part of Kudumbashree and become entrepreneurs. Let’s lead Kerala’s pride of Koodumbashree to greater excellence’ said Minister MB Rajesh.
