The Saudi Football Association announced on Sunday the appointment of Italian Roberto Mancini as coach of the first national team.
The Saudi Federation said in its account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter): A tape of memories after which the journey of writing history begins with Al-Akhdar.
And the Saudi Al-Ittihad account broadcast a presentation video of the new coach of the national team, in which Mancini appeared choosing the green tie, which is the color of the Saudi national team shirt.
Mancini said: I made history in Europe and now I have come to make history in Saudi Arabia.
During his football career, Mancini wore the Sampdoria shirt from 1982 to 1997, and with his late compatriot Gianluca Vialli, he finally formed one of the most effective attacking duos in the Italian league.
He defended the colors of the Italian national team in 36 matches, scoring 4 goals.
Mancini began his coaching career with Fiorentina in 2001, before leading Lazio (2002-2004), Inter (2004-2008 and 2014-2016) and won the “Serie A” title twice, and Manchester City (2009-2013), which he led in 2012 to his title. The first as a champion of the English Premier League in 44 years.
