A new beginning in America
Iván Andía was barely 22 years old when Joven Sensación dissolved. With a life full of possibilities, he decided to migrate to the United States, where he joined the Armed Forces. His training as an engineer allowed him to work in aircraft assembly, a job he did for eight years. Andía worked in aircraft construction and served in the United States Armed Forces during that same period.

Foray into politics
After his return to Peru, Iván Andía ventured into the world of politics. He ran as a candidate for mayor of Bellavista, where he carried out an intense campaign on social networks. Despite his efforts, he did not manage to reach the municipal seat, but his participation marked a new chapter in his life after music.

In 2018, Andía debuted as a film producer with the premiere of “El cóndor en Nueva York”, a film starring Gerardo Zamora and directed by Alejandro Nieto Polo. This project reflects his desire to explore new artistic facets and continue his career in entertainment, although in a different format than the one he used in his youth.
His new facet as a writer and his current situation
Currently, Andía resides in New York and does not neglect his role as a father of three children. He carries with him fond memories of his service in the United States Army.
On the other hand, the former member of ‘La Joven Sensación’ has developed a hidden passion until now. In addition to his experience in the army, his love for literature led him to prepare with dedication to launch his first book, titled ‘Los gallos del puerto’. The work narrates the life of a group of teenagers from Callao at the end of the nineties, addressing their dreams, needs, violence, difficult family life and their time at the most representative school in the port, even those who distance themselves from the law. . The story focuses on Andrés, a young man from the modest neighborhood of Tarapacá, who finds his refuge in music to face adversity.
Iván Andía, in his new stage as a writer, shows that life can take unexpected directions and always offers opportunities to reinvent oneself. His transition from the musical stage to the pages of a book is an inspiring example for those who pursue their dreams and face any challenge that stands in their way.
