The correspondent of the TV channel “Izvestiya” Yaroslav Bohat on September 23 told how the referendum is held in Enerhodar (Zaporozhye region).
“Voting in Energodar takes place in such mobile points. This was done so that employees at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant could immediately make their choice and take part in the referendum,” the journalist said.
One of the referendum participants explained that he had come to vote for normal changes in the country.
“I would not want us to have a referendum, like in 1991, on secession from the Soviet Union. I would not like to. I wish there was order, ”said the man.
Earlier on the same day, the head of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, said that a group of Ukrainian saboteurs was found near the city of Pologi, and work is underway to destroy them. In addition, it was reported that an explosive device thrown from a car went off near a private residential building in the center of Melitopol.
Balitsky regarded these incidents as provocations against the backdrop of the referendum, but assured that everything was going according to plan.
From 23 to 27 September, referendums on joining Russia are being held in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as the republics of Donbass.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
