For the third day Russian sappers have been demining the Novodruzheskaya mine, one of the main strongholds of the nationalists. On August 27, Izvestia correspondent Murad Magomedov presented footage of the work of sappers.
Deadly traps are literally at every turn – the military found several mines, trip wires and shells. Already on the way to the building, the sapper notices a stretched wire in the grass. A metal line leads to a grenade, which is taped to a mine. The specialist bites the wire and takes the mine out into the open.
NATO ammunition was found in one of the warehouses. They can be picked up – they will explode only in the event of a fire or a building collapse.
As specified, in the first days of the special operation, the nationalists expelled all the miners, occupied the premises and drove the armored vehicles.
“In the morning at 10 o’clock they hit Severodonetsk from here with a tank, then they would deploy the barrel and Rubizhnoye, when there were no Russians there yet. They just destroyed cities,” said miner Valery Tsarensky.
This is the highest point in the area – an ideal location for combat. Most importantly, there is a Soviet-built bomb shelter on the territory of the mine. With ventilation, bathrooms, kitchen and sleeping places. All these rooms are located at a depth of four meters.
All found mines, stretch marks, shells and grenades are destroyed by sappers on the spot.
“We cleared everything, walked. Thank you very much, of course! It was scary to go into the offices and the territory, ”the acting thanked the military. Andrey Shelekhov, director of the Novodruzhskaya mine.
Now the mine is flooded. The buildings were destroyed and looted by militants. There are so many coal deposits here that will be enough for 100 years of mining. The miners want to resume work as soon as possible, which is why it was so important for the sappers to quickly and thoroughly clear the entire area of mines and stretch marks.
On August 25, Izvestia correspondent Valentin Trushnin showed how Russian sappers clear Pesky of the Petal anti-personnel mines. During the day, sappers clear the area, but at night the village falls asleep again.
