Hyderabad: YS Sharmila, leader of YSR Telangana Party and sister of Andhra Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, has issued a new challenge to Telangana Chief Minister KS Chandrasekhara Rao. He announced the challenge at a press conference today. Sharmila opened a shoe box saying that she would send a shoe as a gift to Chief Minister Chandrasekhara Rao to accept it.
Continuing, he said, “Chandrasekhara Rao says that Telangana is peaceful. If there are no problems in the state as he says, let him come on the yatra with me. If there is no problem anywhere during the pada yatra, I will retire from politics. But if what he says is false and it comes to light that there are problems in the state, then he will come to the state. He should apologize to the people and resign.
As promised he should make a dalit chief minister. KCR made countless promises to the people. But he did not fulfill any of it,” he said. He has also announced that the last leg of the Pada Yatra will begin from where he left off.
Sharmila’s Political Strategy: Andhra Chief Minister Jagan Mohan’s younger sister YS Sharmila launched a party called ‘YSR Telangana’ in October last year. Subsequently, he has undertaken a pilgrimage in the name of ‘Praja Prasthanam Yatrai’ in Telangana.
During the Pada Yatra, Sharmila has been lashing out at the ruling party TRS. So far, Sharmila has covered a distance of more than 3,500 km. In that way, when he tried to drive towards the Chief Minister’s residence at the end of November, they dragged him along with the car with a crane towing vehicle. This caused a stir in Telangana politics.
He then went on an indefinite fast against being denied permission to undertake the Pada Yatra in Telangana in December. His fast ended with forced hospitalization. After this, Sharmila approached the court. The Telangana High Court allowed him to start his padayatra from Warangal.
In this case, he has announced that he will start the pilgrimage from where he left off. Also, he challenged the Chief Minister of Telangana and created excitement in Telangana politics again.
