Srinagar: At least seven people were injured in two car blasts in Narwal area of Jammu city today (Saturday), police said.
Two cars were bombed near Jammu railway station today. The blast took place in a commercial area. There are many auto tire and auto spare parts shops here. The place is busy throughout the day as vehicle owners come here to get their vehicles repaired.
About the blasts, Additional Director of Police Mukesh Singh said, “Two blasts have taken place in Jammu’s Narwal area. Seven people have been injured in these twin blasts.” A senior police official said, “Two blasts were reported from Yard No. 7 of Transport City. We are investigating the blasts.”
After hearing about the blast, the police rushed to the spot and brought the place under their control. The injured in the blast were rescued by the public and shopkeepers and sent to the hospital. Regarding the injured, Government Medical College and Hospital Superintendent Dr. Narendra Patiali said, “Seven people injured in the blast are undergoing treatment at the hospital. One of them has a stomach injury and is undergoing surgery.”

Earlier, on January 1 and 2, 7 Hindus were killed in successive blasts in Thangar village of Rajouri district. Last December 28, terrorists trying to enter Jammu from Pakistan with heavy weapons were shot dead by security forces at Chitra, 11 km from Narwal. It is noteworthy that various terrorist attacks have been going on in Jammu region recently.
