Jammu: NIA officials raided the spot in connection with the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir in which 5 soldiers were killed.
Yesterday, 6 soldiers of Rashtriya Rifles were killed in an attack on them by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists who were hiding in the area while they were traveling in an army vehicle from Bimber Galli, a LoC area adjacent to Poonch district, to Sangyodi. One person was injured and hospitalized. During this incident, the vehicle in which the soldiers were traveling caught fire.
Efforts have been made to nab the terrorists involved in the attack. Various security systems are involved in this. The search for fugitive criminals has been stepped up with drones and sniffer dogs. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the petrol tank of the vehicle was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and the vehicle caught fire. In addition, firing from 3 sides with guns has also been conducted. More than 12 shells were used.
Investigation has revealed that the bombs recovered from the spot have Chinese markings. Also, these bullets could penetrate the steel plate in the bulletproof vest, the investigators said. While the site of the incident has been sealed off by the security forces, the National Security Forces are conducting an investigation there today.
India, which chairs the G20, is set to hold one of its summits in Jammu and Kashmir’s capital Srinagar next month. Pakistan objected to this. It has been reported that the Pakistani government has asked China not to participate in the G20 conference to be held in Srinagar. Officials believe the attack may have been carried out to protest against the G20 summit in Srinagar.
