In the latest edition of the Panamericana Televisión program, exclusive images were captured of the exact moment in which this unfortunate situation occurred and host Kurt Villavicencio spoke about the event.
How was Janet Barboza’s snub for reporter?
The reporter approached Janet Barboza to give her a present sent by Kurt Villavicencio. The show host had felt that since Janet’s daughter lives in Italy and would be spending Mother’s Day alone, it would be appropriate to give her a gift from her. However, the host of ‘América Hoy’ chose to ignore the young journalist.
“Janet, we brought you a present because we know it’s your first Mother’s Day alone. Can’t you receive the detail we have brought? Don’t you like the gift? “Are you going to leave us with the gift ready?” asked the reporter as Janet Barboza left the América Televisión facility and walked without paying attention to her.

Kurt Villavicencio, known as ‘Metiche’, did not hesitate to express his disappointment at the attitude of his former partner. Although they both now work on different channels, he considered that Janet Barboza could have accepted the gift out of courtesy and education. The presenter pointed out that the gift was modest and would not have cost more than 20 soles, but that his gesture was important.
“It’s okay that you can’t declare because you have a contract with GV Producciones. Yes, our gift is simple, it will not have cost more than 20 soles, it will not be the gifts that Gisela Valcárcel, Ethel or Brunella give you, but simply out of delicacy and education,” said Kurt Villavicencio.

Faced with this situation, the presenter also expressed his disappointment towards the member of ‘América hoy’ and questioned her for her attitude, despite having several years of experience on television. Ultimately, the gift was designated for someone else who needed it.
“Janet, I really fell for you. I thought that, with your 49 years of experience in Peruvian television, you would appreciate a simple gift. Nobody is attacking you. What are you afraid of, Janet Barboza? There is no weapon, you are not a criminal. Let’s give it to someone who really needs a gift,” Kurt concluded.
