Sports Desk. Indian team’s star bowler Jasprit Bumrah has created a stir in the latest ICC rankings released on Wednesday. Bumrah has now become the first Indian bowler to achieve 908 rating points in the ranking of Test bowlers. In this way, the fast bowler has been rewarded for his excellent performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, taking 32 wickets while defeating the Kangaroo batsmen in the entire series.
During this series, Bumrah also broke Kapil Dev’s record of taking most wickets by an Indian fast bowler in a bilateral Test series on Australian soil. Bumrah had overtaken India’s legendary spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s all-time Indian rating-point record by scoring 907 rating points in the ICC rankings released last week. Ashwin’s best rating was 904, which he achieved in December 2016.
Apart from Bumrah (Jasprit Bumrah), spinner Ravindra Jadeja is the second Indian bowler to be in the top 10. Jadeja is at 9th position with 745 rating points. At present, he is placed at number-1 in the ICC Men’s Test Bowlers Ranking. Bumrah set a new record in the ICC rankings after taking 32 wickets in BGT 2024-25. He became the first Indian bowler to reach the highest ranking point (908) in the ICC rankings.
Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, there were many changes in the ICC rankings. Fast bowler Scott Boland, who forced the Indian batsmen to kneel in the Sydney Test, has made a place in the top 10 by jumping 29 places. He is joint ninth with Jadeja with 745 rating points. Boland took 10 wickets for 86 runs in the Sydney Test.
