Melbourne. Indian team’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has taken 200 wickets in Tests. He dismissed Sam Constas on the fourth day of the Boxing Day Test. This was his 199th wicket. After this he hunted Travis Head, who had scored two centuries in the last two Tests. Nitish Kumar Reddy caught him.
Bumrah (Jasprit Bumrah) made his debut in Test cricket for India in 2018. Bumrah did not allow him to open his account in the first innings, so he could score only one run in this innings. Jasprit Bumrah has become the bowler to take 200 wickets in the fewest balls in Tests. He dismissed Head on the 8484th ball of his career. The record of taking 200 wickets on the fewest balls in the world is in the name of Pakistan’s Waqar Younis.
Waqar, who debuted in 1989, had completed 200 wickets in 7725 balls. Bumrah has come fourth in this list in the world. Jasprit Bumrah completed his 200 wickets in Tests at an average of less than 20. He is the first bowler in the world to do so. Till now in Test, no bowler has been able to take 200 wickets before giving 4000 runs but Bumrah has done so. He completed his 200 wickets by giving 3912 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah had dismissed Travis Head on the second ball of the 34th over. He also dismissed Mitchell Marsh on the last ball of the same over. Wicket keeper Rishabh Pant took his catch. Marsh continues to struggle with form. In the last 10 Test innings, he has been able to reach double figures only twice. He has scored 20 runs from his bat in 5 innings and the highest score is 9 runs.
