Jefferson Farfán, renowned Peruvian former soccer player, recently inaugurated his shopping center, called KM40 in Punta Hermosa. During an interview with Santiago Salazar, from the YouTube channel ‘Limited Edition’, Farfán revealed details about how his mother, Doña Charo, convinced him to invest in this ambitious project. Despite having faced a previous failure with a restaurant in Russia due to the pandemic, his mother’s vision and confidence were crucial to taking this big step in the business world.
“My mother always talked to me about buying properties and at the beginning we dedicated ourselves to that. Then, when I arrived in Russia, I went all out and started a restaurant, but due to the pandemic it went badly. The pandemic in Russia caught me, I lost everything, the pain and suffering was hard,” confessed the ‘Foquita’. Initially, Jefferson Farfán was reluctant to invest again, especially in a large project like a shopping center. However, Doña Charo convinced him that this investment would be safe and beneficial for the future of his children.
Doña Charo and her vision of KM40
Rosario Guadalupe Jefferson Farfán’s mother, played a fundamental role in the decision to invest in KM40 . According to Farfán, his mother called him while he was still playing in Russia, insisting that she had found a promising location in Punta Hermosa. “A while passed, my mother was in Lima and I was still playing in Russia. From one moment to the next my mother tells me: ‘Son, I have found a place that is gold, that is going to be the future of your legacy and your children. The mother is not wrong, trust me.’ I asked him how much I had to invest and he told me strong numbers, I got scared,” said the former soccer player.
Despite his initial doubts, Jefferson Farfán decided to trust his mother’s intuition and acquired the land in Punta Hermosa, an area that had previously been affected by landslides. “That place belonged to two or three Spaniards, so I bought it with great pain because I remembered that at some point a huaico had happened in that area. Thank God it was something from my mother, a visionary. This project is now a reality and I am truly very happy, because I no longer think about myself, but about my children. “I want to leave a legacy for my children,” said Farfán.
