Mrs. ‘Charo’ was on his son’s podcast Jefferson Farfan and he was encouraged to reveal unknown details of what he experienced with ‘Foquita’ when he was a newborn.
The former soccer player’s mother said that she was the victim of an accident with her little boy in the Villa María del Triunfo district. In this regard, Mrs. ‘Charo’ explained that, in the middle of a blackout, she left her house with ‘Jeffry’, who was only nine months old. In the middle of the darkness, Farfán’s mother fell into a silo that was more than a meter and a half deep.
“It was all dark and in the darkness your eyes close. I was walking with my son carrying me and, in that moment, I stepped and fell into a hole. I grabbed him in my arms, after falling, I threw Jefferson,” said Mrs. ‘Charo’ at first.
Then, the mother of ‘Foquita’ said that she was able to get out of the silo and began to search in the darkness for her child: “Until I stepped on his foot, grabbed it and started crying. Then I said, I can die, but my son can’t, he’s starting to live.” .

His natural talent did not go unnoticed, and he soon joined the Cantolao Sports Academy , one of the most prestigious in the country. However, the family’s economic situation made it difficult to access adequate sports resources.
Here, again, the role of Rosario stood out, who despite the limitations, did everything possible so that her son had the necessary tools to develop as a soccer player. She bought the uniforms and paid for the registration fees with the little money she earned, always hoping that, one day, her little girl would be able to excel in the sport that he loved so much.
Doña ‘Charo”s efforts and sacrifices were not in vain. ‘Jeffry’ grew in talent and recognition, until he became Lima Alliance , one of the most important clubs in Peru. His exceptional performance led him to be called up to the Peruvian national team and, eventually, to sign for renowned international teams, such as PSV Eindhoven and Schalke 04 .
Today, Farfán does not forget his roots or his mother’s sacrifices. On multiple occasions he has publicly expressed his gratitude and recognition towards Rosario.
