Jharkhand. Speculations about former Jharkhand CM Champai Soren joining the BJP are increasing continuously. However, now he has openly said that he has come to Delhi for personal work (Champai Soren In Delhi). Champai Soren’s visit to Delhi has increased the political stir.
According to sources, Champai Soren is in touch with senior BJP leaders. Speculations about his switching sides had intensified two days ago. Dashrath Gagrai, Ramdas Soren, Chamra Linda, Lobin Hembram, Sameer Mohanty are also not in touch. That means a total of 6 MLAs are reported to be missing.
Here, even the JMM district committee was not informed about the former Chief Minister and senior leader of the party going to Kolkata by road. The party leaders of Ghatsila subdivision came to know about his going to Kolkata on Sunday. At present, everyone’s eyes will be on the next political move of Champai Soren.
Champai Soren joining BJP will help in making a big dent in the tribal vote bank in the upcoming assembly elections. But factionalism within the party will also intensify. Champai Soren has a strong hold in the Kolhan region including Jamshedpur. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Champai contested from the Jamshedpur parliamentary seat. In these tribal-dominated areas, the Santhal and Bhumij communities strongly supported JMM. The margin of victory in the Kolhan assembly elections is only 10 to 20 thousand.
