March 28, 2023 was a sad day for fans Joanna Jóźwik. Award-winning athlete she said “belt” and ended her professional career. Her decision resulted from, among other things, health problems. In an interview with “WP SportoweFakty” our star revealed that training and competitions took up all her time. The athlete also opened up about the topic loneliness in sports. When she achieved success in athletics, she was surrounded by many people. The situation changed when she had to take a break from racing due to injuries.
“I was left practically alone with the injury. My sadness deepened. For a very long time we didn’t know what was wrong with me, we didn’t know how to get out of this hole. There were thoughts that this might be the end my leg will hurt for the rest of my life” – she said.
“Biało-Czerwona” is not bored after sports retirement. Recently, she had the opportunity to take part in a prestigious event, which caused a stir on social media.

On Saturday, October 7, the 54th edition of the prestigious gala took place at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów. “Golden Spikes”, during which Polish athletes in a given year were awarded. The first places for the ladies and gentlemen went to the winners runners-up in the world from Budapest 2023, Natalia Kaczmarek and Wojciech Nowicki.
The award was also received by Joanna Jóźwik, who wore a green dress and high heels for the event.
Today, during the ‘Golden Spikes 2023’ gala, I received thanks with pride and great emotions for representing Poland in many international arenas. These wonderful 15 years of a wonderful sports adventure that shaped me, taught me a lot about myself, flew by very quickly… I don’t know when! I came to the first training sessions without any expectations, without any sports dreams

“I wanted to do something for myself, something more, step outside the boundaries of the people I grew up with. I am ending this adventure as a two-time Olympian and three-time European Championship medalist. Could I dream better? NO. I am extremely grateful for supporting me on this sports path,” added the 32-year-old, who did not forget to thank the fans and people who contributed to the development of her career and helped in difficult times.
The retired player’s entry was full of comments. Some were surprised by her styling. “Oh no! Asia in heels for the first time! Shocking”,”Congratulations on a beautiful career!”,”For us, you are athletic pride“, “Top – respect!” – wrote the fans.
