‘A Christmas Countdown’ shows Santa Claus and Mamá Noela, endearing characters of the Christmas season as well as Jack La Lane, the Christmas turkey with his friend the panettone, and many other guests. All this accompanied by musicals and anecdotes by Johanna San Miguel and Carlos Carlín.
It is a collective creation of the protagonists together with director Bruno Ascenzo and Ítalo Cordano. It is presented virtually, until January 6 by Joinnus.
“It is a show that makes Christmas a sarcasm, since all these days we are submerged in madness. I have made this game based on the stress we are experiencing because, in addition to working, you are thinking about the gifts, the turkey and the panettone ”, says the actress.
“It is a Christmas celebration in our style with a lot of humor. A satire. We make several characters each. Finally, a message of union that corresponds at the moment, but told in our style. There are appearances of the turkey talking to the panettone, a hot scene of Santa Claus and Mama Noela, there are María and José, but they are plaster images that are always put in a box all year round and they are taken out in December where they come to life with their noses broken “, says the actor.
As children, what link did they have with Christmas, were they excited?
J: I was looking forward to Christmas because it was the only day that my four brothers could be together with Mom. She was a single mother and raised us alone in my grandmother’s house, she worked day and night. I once heard someone say that I had grown up full of gifts, because I had studied at Villa María. What they don’t know is that I studied on a scholarship, because my mother went to ask for that benefit. Our Christmases were quiet, they were not ostentatious. The best gift for me was having her at home all day.
C: The illusion of Santa Claus ended when I discovered my dad in disguise putting powder on the soles of his shoes, to pretend that he had entered through the roof (laughs). It is a family event. Now there is a baby at home, my six-month-old niece, so with her everything is magic at Christmas, it takes on another meaning. I am excited.
What awaits them for 2022?
J: I continue in ‘This is war’, where I have been happy all this year. I don’t know who my new partner will be.
C: I finished seven years of ‘Wantan Night’, it was a decision of the channel as with other contents. I am very sorry because it was a window to show the talent of people who had no other window, but, well, there will already be another space to do it. What is certain is a play with Johanna.❖
