Johnny Depp: Amber Heard Will Have To Pay Him $ 10 Million For The Defamation Trial

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard continue to make headlines after their controversial trial for violence and defamation, respectively. The last Friday, June 24, the lawyers of both met, but they did not reach any consensus on the money that the actress must cancel.

What was the verdict for Amber Heard?

The court determined its verdict in favor of the interpreter of Jack Sparrow and ordered that Amber make the payment of 10.35 million dollars for defaming the actor’s reputation.

Amber had sued the actor for allegedly having physically and psychologically violated her. During the process, she revealed details of her relationship with Depp. Along these lines, the actor made a counterclaim for the opinion article published in December 2018 in The Washington Post. It mentioned “a public figure who represents domestic abuse.”

Johnny lashed out indicating that his ex-wife was damaging his reputation and all this had repercussions on his career.

Ultimately, the jury determined that Depp should receive $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, however, the judge lowered the latter figure to $350,000, as it is the state limit.
