Johnson & Johnson seeks permission for Orthodox Kovid vaccine in India

Kochi: The US has sought permission in India for a single dose of Kovid vaccine for emergency use. Company Johnson & Johnson. Covshield of the Serum Institute and Kovacsin of Bharat Biotech, Dr. Reddy’s Lab’s Sputnik 5 vaccine is currently licensed in India.

Johnson & Johnson’s approval was prompted by the growing number of delta cases in India and the assessment that a third wave was imminent. Johnson said the Hyderabad-based Biological e-Company would play a key role in the global distribution of the vaccine. Johnson signed a contract with Biological E Company last year.

The company claims that their single dose vaccine is 85 percent effective after the third phase of testing. The company said that those who take the vaccine will achieve full immunity within 28 days. It is claimed that the vaccine will help reduce the mortality rate of Kovid.
