Joker-clad man sets train on fire; Many injured in Japan

TOKYO: A 24-year-old man dressed as a joker in Japan has set fire to a train with a knife in his hand. The brutal incident took place in Tokyo. Reuters news agency reported that 17 people were injured in the incident. The incident took place on Sunday evening. The victims were on their way to a Halloween reunion.

The attacker was arrested by the police on the spot. The 60-year-old, who was stabbed by the assailant, is in critical condition. According to eyewitnesses, the assailant had spilled some liquid on the train and a fire broke out shortly afterwards.

Video footage of the train catching fire has been released. The video, which was uploaded on Twitter, shows passengers panicking and trying to escape from the train and catching fire. Another video of passengers escaping through a window after the train stopped is circulating.

An eyewitness said he saw a man dressed as a joker walking with a knife in his hand after the fire. According to a local media report, there was blood on his knife.
