This evening, Tuesday, a fifth evacuation plane arrived from Sudan to Jordan.
On this occasion, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said, “Today we will complete the evacuation of the largest number of Jordanians from Sudan,” stressing that “everyone who communicated with the Jordanian embassy in Sudan has been evacuated.”
Yesterday, Monday, Jordanian warplanes returned hundreds of citizens and some Arabs and foreigners to Jordan after evacuating them from Sudan due to the clashes taking place there between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.
Yesterday, 4 Jordanian military planes arrived at the Marka Military Airport in the capital, Amman, in the early hours of the morning, after taking off from Port Sudan, with 343 people on board after being evacuated from Sudan.
At the airport, Sinan Majali, a spokesman for the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, said, “We are talking about 343 Jordanian citizens who were evacuated from Sudan, in addition to a number of Arab brothers from Palestine, Iraq and Syria, and there are citizens from Germany.”
Many countries continued to evacuate their nationals from Sudan, as clashes continued between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, despite the two parties declaring a truce during the Eid days.
In a statement, the Sudanese army announced the completion of the evacuation of a number of diplomatic missions and nationals of some countries, but accused the Rapid Support Forces of trying to obstruct the evacuation of foreigners.
