Jorge Mas, president of Inter Miami, revealed in the NBA, on Tuesday, that former Barcelona defender Jordi Alba will join Lionel Messi in the team.
The 34-year-old left back left Barcelona at the end of last season after playing more than 450 games for the club and winning the 2015 Champions League, six La Liga titles, five Copa del Rey titles, four Spanish Super Cups and the Club World Cup.
Alba, who has more than 90 caps for Spain, will be among several former Barcelona players in the Inter Miami squad that also includes Messi and Sergio Busquets.
Maas said on Tuesday: He has already signed a contract and will arrive in the next few days. Tata Martino counts on him.
Inter Miami is also looking to sign former Barcelona player Luis Suarez from Uruguay, who is currently playing with Gremio in Brazil, as Mas indicated that he had begun negotiating with the player.
