Joshimath: The district administration has informed that the Joshimath city buildings have suffered cracks due to the landslide and the resettlement of the affected people is underway.

In this case, District Collector Himanshu Khurana, who went to the camp in Joshimath last night, inquired whether the camp has enough facilities. He also inquired as to what alternative they would need if their houses were to be demolished due to cracks. Then he had dinner with them.
Later, Himanshu Khurana said to the media, “I have heard from the people staying in the camp about the relief they want. Some demanded payment in cash. Because they said they had land and wanted to build a house there. Others asked to be resettled elsewhere in Joshimath itself.
The government wants to provide relief to the people according to their wishes. That is why their wishes have been asked. The government will take their decision into consideration. They will be given relief in cash or housing,” he said.
Compensation as per market value: The state government has announced that Rs 1.50 lakh each will be given as first relief to all the families affected by the landslide. For this, a 19-member committee has been formed under the leadership of Samoli district administration chief. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Thami has said that the compensation for the affected people will be given according to the market value.
