The murdered Juan is a news anchor of Kalamwa Gobh FM 98.7. Juan was shot at his home in Calamba city while broadcasting the event live on Facebook. According to the police, the suspect entered the house and opened fire. His wife immediately rushed Juan to the hospital where he died.
Police said the investigation into Juan Jumalon’s death is ongoing and there are no known threats to his life. Preliminary investigation revealed that the assailant fired only once. The assailant shot at the head and the bullet went through the lower lip and the back of the head.

The police said that they are trying to find the attacker. An attempt has been made to identify the gun used in the murder through ballistics testing. Acting Regional Director General of the Police Regional Office Ricardo Layug said the culprits will be found and brought to justice. The investigation into the incident is actively progressing. He added that a special team has been formed and the investigation is progressing fast.
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos said he had ordered the police to conduct a thorough investigation to quickly bring the culprits to justice. He clarified that attacks on media workers will not be tolerated in a democratic country.
