The renowned Virus guitarist, Julio Moura, is at the center of an investigation after the tragic death of his partner, Andrea Gloria Rojas Murillo, 53 years old. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday at his home located in Villa Elisa, La Plata. According to the first statements, the rock artist assured that his partner’s death would have been the result of a “sexual game through hanging” that would have gone wrong.
The woman’s body was found by the authorities on the floor of the living room of the house, with signs of hanging on the neck and injuries on her legs. A rope tied to a ceiling brace and accessories related to sadomasochistic practices were also found. Julio Moura visibly affected, had an injury to his arm that, he stated, occurred when he tried to get his partner off the hook when he noticed that he was collapsing.
The call that alerted the authorities
It was Lucía Castelli, Julio Moura’s ex-wife, who called 911 after receiving a call from the guitarist asking for help. When officers arrived at the home, they found the scene described above. According to the Argentine media El Día, Rojas’ body was in a supine position, and the preliminary information coincides with what was stated by the Virus musician.
Narcotics were also found at the scene, and the Police carried out tests to collect samples. Prosecutor Gonzalo Petit Bosnic requested a blood draw from Moura to determine if substance consumption could have influenced the events. In addition, he noted that the results of the autopsy will be key to clarifying the circumstances of the death.
