On the 3rd day yesterday, Indian Grandmaster Arjun Erikaisi defeated Ukraine’s Vasil Ivanchuk in the 9th round. He then lost in the 10th round to Poland’s Jan-Krzysztof Duda. Arjun Erikaisi drew his match against Israel’s Boris Gelfand in the 11th round before defeating America’s Christopher in the next round.
Pragnananda, the 17-year-old Indian Grandmaster, finished all 4 rounds in a draw. At the end of 12 rounds, world champion Carlson of Norway advanced to the top spot with 25 points. India’s Arjun Erikaisi is at the 2nd position with 24 points. Pragnananda was pushed to the 4th position with 19 points. Vietnam’s Quang Liem Li moved up to 3rd place with 20 points.
