The 63-year-old Hollywood star faces nine charges of sexual assault, allegedly committed between 2001 and 2013.
Judge Mark Wall reminded jurors that they must reach a verdict that everyone agrees on and pointed out that there are issues such as consent that must be considered when making a decision.
The magistrate gave the jury until 4:15 p.m. local time (3:15 p.m. GMT) today to reach the verdict, otherwise they will return tomorrow, Tuesday, to continue deliberation.
During the legal process that lasted several weeks, Spacey was described as a “sexual harasser”, although the actor denies the charges for the complaints presented by four men, who have denied seeking financial benefits or wanting to advance their careers.
The Hollywood star denies seven counts of sexual assault, one for forcing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent and another for causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.
