For the first time in almost two years, AR Rahman is presenting a live show against the backdrop of the Kovid Pandemic. Rahman will be accompanied by several other Indian musicians. Malayalam musician Hariharan, who has participated in many of Rahman’s best songs, will also sing at the concert. Rahman will be accompanied by music director Ranjith Barrot, Indian actress and musician Andrea Jeremiah, popular playback singers Benny Dayal, Jonita Gandhi, Haricharan, Javed Ali, Shweta Mohan, Rakshitha Suresh and rappers Blaze and Sivang.
The concert will feature Rahman’s favorite works in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. Rahman said he looks forward to returning to the Expo stage with some of his favorite singers and instrumentalists to perform all of my three decades of work and that the audience can expect a great musical experience. Expo ticket holders will be allowed to enter the venue at Jubilee Park. Arrangements will be made for first-come, first-served basis as seats are limited. Tickets will be available through the website www.expo2020.com.
The Firdaus Orchestra, the official music band of the Dubai Expo, was formed by Oscar winner and Indian musician AR Rahman. It is a group of 50 women musicians from 23 countries. AR Rahman had earlier said that his passion for Arabic music prompted him to be a part of the Firdaus Orchestra at the Dubai Expo. He also said that Firdaus Studio would open a state-of-the-art studio in Dubai as part of strengthening India-Dubai ties in the arts.

Khadeeja Rahman, daughter of AR Rahman, witnessed her first live concert at the Dubai Expo last month. The event, held at Jubilee Park as part of the World Children’s Day celebrations, was well received at the Expo. Khadeeda was accompanied by 16-year-old pianist Lydian Nadaswaram. Khadeeja’s concert is part of the Firdaus Orchestra, a women’s music group formed by AR Rahman as part of the Dubai Expo.
