New Delhi: The election for the Executives of Football Association of India was held yesterday. In this, 45-year-old Kalyan Chaube was elected as the leader by getting 33 votes. His opponent, former player Baichung Bhutia, got only one vote. Football association representatives from 34 states voted in this election.
Kalyan Chaubey did not get a chance to play despite being featured in the Indian senior team a few times. This is the first time in the 85-year history of Indian football that a former player has been chosen as the captain.
