South Cinema Stamina’s latest film ‘Kantara’ hit the pan India box office. Rishab Shetty is the hero of this movie produced by famous production house Hombale Films. Directing the movie while acting as the protagonist is a bit of brilliance. Made with a budget of around Rs.16 crores, this movie has achieved gross collections of Rs.400 crores worldwide (Kantara Collections). Recently, this film has become available on the popular OTT company Amazon Prime. Many ‘Kantara’ hardcore fans who enjoyed the movie in theaters did not like the movie in OTT. That’s because there is no song called Varaha Roopam in the movie uploaded in OTT. Another song was replaced in its place.
Everyone knows the reason why the makers of ‘Kantara’ did that. A few days after the release of the movie, Thaikkudam Bridge, a music band from Malayalam, claimed that the song was theirs. They alleged that Varaha Roopam (Varaha Roopam) song was copied from Navarasa which they composed. The court imposed a ban on the pill. As a result, the production company Hombale Films not only deleted the song from YouTube but also replaced it with another tune in the movie.
Since then the case has been going on in the court. The Kerala Court, which considered this plea, finally lifted the ban imposed on Varaha Form Song. This gives a free hand to the makers. There is a possibility that they will re-play the Varaha form song like earlier in Kantara movie in OTT as well. This is really good news for Kantara movie fans.
‘Kaantara’ has earned Rs.168.50 crore in Kannada, Rs.60 crore in both Telugu states, Rs.96 crore in Hindi belt, Rs.44.50 crore in overseas, Rs. 12.70 crores and in Kerala the collections were Rs.19.20 crores. A total of Rs. 400 crore gross collection.
