Director Rishabh Shetty and producer Vijay Kirgandur appeared before the investigating officer today after the Supreme Court granted anticipatory bail on Thursday (February 9). The petitioner should appear before the investigating officer on February 12 and 13. If he is arrested, he will be released on bail immediately subject to conditions in the trial court,” said Supreme Court Chief Justice D.Y. A bench comprising Justices Chandrachud, PS Narasimha and JB Padiwala said in the order.
The reason for issuing the summons is that a music band named ‘Thaikudam Bridge’ from Kerala has complained that a song from the movie Kantara belongs to their band. The producer and director gave a statement in front of the police. Meanwhile, in their complaint, the band stated that the song ‘Varaha Roopam’ in the movie was actually stolen from their song ‘Navarasam’. However, the music director of the film, B. Ajanish Loknath, denied these allegations. The allegations that these similarities are due to the use of the same ‘raaga’ in both these songs are not true.
