While Rishabh Pant is likely to be discharged this month, there are no signs of his re-entry into cricket. The reason for that was the severe injuries to his knees and ankles. Doctors had to operate on both these injuries. Rishabh Pant got up from bed today and shared a photo of him coming to the balcony of the hospital in a wheel chair and breathing fresh air. In view of the severity of Pant’s injuries, it seems that Pant will miss IPL-2023 and ODI World Cup-2023 as well.
Cricketers as well as fans wish Rishabh Pant a speedy recovery. But Kapildev gave a warning that he would slap Pant. “I like Rishabh Pant a lot. I wish him a speedy recovery. Only then can I go and slap him on the cheek and tell him to be careful. I will say that the entire composition of the team was destroyed due to your accident. Panth is my favourite. But I am angry with him right now. Why are young people doing this these days? Pant should be slapped for doing that mistake,” said Kapildev angrily.
Rishabh Pant is useful for the team as a batter-cum-wicket-keeper. Now that he is not in the Test team, one has to be taken for wicket-keeping and another as an extra batsman. The composition of the team will also be affected. Above all, being a left-handed batsman, Pant would be useful for team balance in the middle order. Team India must defeat Australia in the four-Test series starting Thursday to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship (2021-23). It looks like Kapildev is angry with Pant missing out on such a crucial series.
